Based on Bryan Cheong’s original video. Reviewed 28 September 2026.
To request a Shopee e-Invoice, open a completed order, select the E-Invoice option, choose Request Now and submit the correct buyer information. Bryan’s video walks through the business and individual options and explains why the request deadline matters.
Check the order and deadline first
Go to your profile or the Me tab, open My Purchases and select the relevant completed order. In Order Details, open the E-Invoice option and check the displayed validity period.
The request window ends on the third day of the month after the order is completed. For example, an order completed in September should be requested by 3 October, subject to the validity shown in your account. Do not wait until the accounting year-end.
Choose the correct buyer
For a registered business
The video demonstrates entering the business name, business registration number, Tax Identification Number (TIN), contact number and address, including postcode, city and state. Confirm these with the person responsible for the company’s accounts before submitting.
For an individual
Use the individual’s correct name and identification details, together with the TIN and other information requested by the form. Avoid using another person’s details simply because they are already saved in the account.
Email check: although the video describes email as optional on the screen shown at the time, Shopee’s current help page asks buyers to provide a valid email address and enable email notifications. Follow the requirements displayed in the current form.
Submit and retrieve the document
- Review the selected buyer type and every entered field.
- Submit the request and retain the order reference.
- Return to the order’s e-Invoice section to check its status. The video shows using View once the document becomes available.
- Save the issued document with the order details and proof of payment, then pass the complete set to the person handling the accounts.
Processing time can vary. The video’s suggestion to check again later is not a guaranteed turnaround time.
Why is Request Now unavailable?
Check whether the order is marked Completed and whether its request window has expired. Shopee’s current guide also states that returned or refunded orders will not generate an e-Invoice through this process. If your order appears eligible but the function is missing, contact Shopee with the order reference.
Is an order receipt the same as an e-Invoice?
They are different documents. If you need an e-Invoice, use the dedicated request function rather than assuming the ordinary order receipt is the validated document. Whether an expense is reimbursable or deductible still depends on the transaction and the applicable rules; obtaining an e-Invoice does not by itself decide that.
A useful routine for business purchases
Ask the purchaser to request the e-Invoice as soon as an eligible order is completed. Keep the buyer details, order number, amount and supporting documents together so that accounts staff can match the purchase without repeatedly chasing information.
