Updated E-Invoice Implementation Date

Today (December 11) brings breaking news for Malaysian businesses—LHDN has updated the e-Invoice implementation timeline, with big changes for SMEs!

The core update: The exemption threshold is raised to RM1,000,000 annual turnover . Businesses earning ≤RM1mil are now exempt from mandatory e-Invoicing, while those above RM1mil will comply as scheduled in 2026 . Key timelines to note:

RM1mil–RM5mil turnover: Mandatory from Jan 1, 2026
New businesses (2023–2025) with ≥RM1mil turnover: Starts July 1, 2026
Transactions over RM10k: Individual e-Invoices required from Jan 1, 2026
