Lindung 24 Jam on Payslips: How to Check It in SQL Payroll

A written companion to Bryan Cheong’s original video or pictures. Updated by Syntax Technologies on 28 September 2026.

In Bryan Cheong’s demonstration, the Lindung 24 Jam deduction can be shown separately or included in the SOCSO total on the payslip. What matters for payroll checking is that you can identify the components and reconcile the employee deduction correctly.

Bryan attributes the display options to a PERKESO reply. This article follows his SQL Payroll walkthrough and distinguishes payslip presentation from the calculation and payment of contributions.

Understand what you are checking

Lindung 24 Jam provides protection for eligible non-work-related accidents. PERKESO’s published FAQ states that its contribution is borne by the employee; it is not an additional employer contribution under this scheme. Employers still need to handle the deduction and payment correctly. Refer to PERKESO’s Lindung 24 Jam FAQ.

A report containing employee and employer SOCSO fields does not mean that both parties contribute to every component. Read the labels before interpreting the figures.

Check 1: Preview the employee’s payslip

After processing payroll for the relevant month, preview the employee’s payslip. Bryan shows that some SQL Payroll formats separate the ordinary employee SOCSO amount from Lindung 24 Jam.

Identify the payroll period, employee and deduction labels. If the selected format displays one combined figure, use Payroll Summary to inspect its underlying components. Do not add a second manual deduction just because a separate line is not visible.

Check 2: Review Payroll Summary

Open the Payroll Summary for the same period and employee. In the video, Bryan points out the separate ordinary SOCSO and Lindung 24 Jam figures and explains that their employee components add up to the employee SOCSO total.

Employee ordinary SOCSO component + employee Lindung 24 Jam component = employee SOCSO total for the comparison shown.

Keep any employer contribution separate when doing this reconciliation. A stacked label or adjacent amount should not be interpreted as an employer Lindung 24 Jam charge.

A practical review before releasing payroll

  1. Confirm you are using the intended payroll month and employee record.
  2. Check the current software version, employee settings and applicable contribution schedule.
  3. Compare the employee components in Payroll Summary with the payslip deduction.
  4. Check the resulting net pay and investigate differences before approving payment.
  5. Retain the reviewed payroll reports and contribution records.

This checklist supports the video’s report-checking method. A report that adds up is useful evidence, but it does not by itself prove that the underlying salary inputs, employee eligibility or contribution settings are correct.

Frequently asked questions

Must every payslip use the same layout?

The video explains that separate and combined presentation were accepted in the PERKESO reply Bryan received. Use the current requirements and a layout that lets staff understand their deduction. Ask for confirmation if your chosen template creates ambiguity.

Does the second figure mean a second employer deduction?

No. Bryan specifically warns against this interpretation. Check the column headings and distinguish the employee’s ordinary SOCSO and Lindung 24 Jam components from employer SOCSO.

Can I use the demonstration amount for every employee?

No. The video illustrates a checking method. Use the applicable contribution schedule and employee information for the actual payroll period.

For the Chinese explanation, see Lindung 24 Jam 薪资单与 Payroll Summary 核对指南.
