Attention all employees & business owners!
If you’ve been following updates on the PERKESO Lindung 24 Jam Scheme,
here’s the latest official news👇
Previously, this 24-hour SOCSO non-work injury scheme was planned to be compulsory with mandatory employee contributions.
The government has officially announced:
Participation is now fully voluntary for Malaysian local employees.
What does this mean for you?
Under the original ruling, monthly premiums would be automatically deducted from your salary.
Moving forward,
local employees can choose freely whether to join the scheme,
and there will be no automatic salary deductions enforced.
What protection does Lindung 24 Jam provide?
This scheme covers PERKESO benefits for accidents unrelated to your job, including:
✅ Incidents after working hours
✅ Accidents occurring on weekends & public holidays
✅ Any mishaps with no direct link to employment
Eligible claimants may receive SOCSO coverage such as:
Medical treatment benefits, temporary disablement allowance, permanent disablement compensation, and dependants’ benefits (subject to full scheme terms & conditions).
📌 Important Reminder:
Even though the scheme is now voluntary for local workers,
government policies are subject to future adjustments.
Always keep track of the latest official announcements from authorities.
Employers and HR teams are advised to monitor updates closely
to avoid incorrect payroll execution.
